How we teach
The Benchmark week.
Preparation is a rhythm, not a rush. Every week at Benchmark follows the same six steps — for campus students and online students alike.
Concept first
The topic is taught for understanding, from the current Cambridge or Edexcel syllabus — not from last year's notes.
Class practice, in class
Questions are worked in the session, with the teacher watching. Difficulties surface while there is still a teacher in the room to fix them.
Daily homework — and it gets checked
Homework goes home after every class and comes back marked. Work that is assigned but never checked teaches a student nothing.
A weekly assessed test
Every week, under timed conditions, marked against the real Cambridge or Edexcel mark scheme — not a lenient in-house standard.
The test is discussed, question by question
Papers are returned and walked through with the students: where the marks were, why an answer fell short, and what the examiner wanted instead.
Parents are told
Results, attendance and homework reach parents after every cycle. If a student is absent, we call — the same day.
